What Is INEOS Grenadier?

The INEOS Grenadier story began in 2016 in London, Great Britain. That’s when 4×4 enthusiast and chairman of INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, met with friends in a pub called The Grenadier. He wanted his company to produce a no-nonsense and utilitarian off-road vehicle that adventurers, farmers, and off-road aficionados would use to meet their needs. The name of the vehicle was a no-brainer, so they named it after the pub in which the idea came to fruition. 

In 2018, the design of the vehicle began thanks to 200 engineering experts in Stuttgart, Germany. A plant was built in Hambach, France, which was designed and constructed by BMW. All of the vehicles from the INEOS brand are imported from Europe to our lot near Durham.

The INEOS Grenadier story continued when the first SUVs (called wagons) rolled out of the production facility.

What Is INEOS Grenadier in Terms of Its Design and Features?

1. INEOS Grenadier looks like an amalgamation of the Defender and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Wagon. 
2. The cabin is utilitarian in nature with a control panel in the ceiling to manage the off-road features and add-ons. It uses knobs and switches rather than a capacitive touchscreen to make it sturdy when exploring the great outdoors.
3. The engine is a 3.0L inline-6 developed by BMW. It gets around 15 mpg.
4. The overhead panel of the INEOS Grenader is designed to withstand the elements and to be operated by a co-driver. It uses buttons and switches to control axle differential locks, wade mode, and pre-wired auxiliary switches for winches and light bars. It’s like behind a pilot of an airplane or a spaceship.
5. There are five drain valves in the cabin, and the cabin components resist water, if you need to hose it down to clean it. So, dirt is invited on every off-road trip.
6. Safari windows above the driver and passenger can be removed and placed in the cabin. So, when you’re out in nature, you won’t have to worry about rolling down your windows. You can stand up to see things above you, ahead of you, and behind you with clarity. Bring your field glasses (AKA binoculars) too.
7. There are just 19 INEOS Grenadier dealers in the United States. The INEOS brand is part of an exclusive club.
